With everyone on board, we head towards route N°3 towards the North.

As we move away from the Beagle Channel, the landscape reveals the Oliva and Cinco Hermanos mountains on the horizon, as well as the Carbajal Valley where peat is exploited.

Next, the road takes us to the Tierra Mayor Valley, discovering the Bonete, Pelado and Alvear hills.

Next, we cross Rancho Hambre, which is the place where route J begins, at the National Highway detachment.

Reaching a height of 500 meters above sea level, we can enjoy the most amazing panoramic views of Lake Escondido and Lake Fagnano, over the famous Garibaldi Pass.

 

The trip continues along route 3, passing by the Bronzovich sawmill, towards Lake Fagnano, where a second descent is made to enjoy the 3rd longest lake in Argentina, with an environment of particular beauty.

Lake Fagnano is among the largest in South America, as it is more than 150 kilometers long.

When it's time to return, there is a last stop at one of the winter centers, to finish the walk with an exquisite Fuegian lamb before returning to your hotel in Ushuaia. (lunch not included, average price $8,600 per person)

Our first stop will delight our eyes at the old Garibaldi Pass, the only highway pass that has managed to cross the chain of the Fuegian Andes. National Route 3 is the first land route that was made to connect Ushuaia with the rest of the cities in the country. After all, Tierra del Fuego was only provincialized in 1990.
From there we will descend to the Escondido Lake, the 2nd largest on the island, which has that name because on foggy days, it is completely hidden from the viewpoint.
