It was built between 1918 and 1919 and today it is a tourist highlight of the city of&nbsp;<strong>Ushuaia<\/strong>. It can be observed in the Beagle Channel navigations that leave the port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Caracter\u00edsticas del Faro Les Eclaireurs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Its name means \"The Illuminators\" in French and it is located on the NE islet of the group of islands named after the lighthouse in the Beagle Channel, off the coast of the&nbsp;<strong>Ushuaia Bay<\/strong>.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a brick tower, 11 meters high and 3 meters in diameter painted with two red horizontal stripes and a white intermediate one. It has a lantern at 22.5 meters above sea level and emits red and white light every 5 seconds. It is powered by solar panels and was released to service in December 1920. It operates automatically, is remotely controlled and is closed to the public. It can only be seen from a boat.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The islets that form the archipelago are rocky with stones between them and surrounded by cachiyuyos, typical of the region.
