The most wonderful thing about this excursion is the pleasant sensation of solitude that we will experience when we find ourselves in a place far away from civilization and noise. The landscape invites us to discover in silence and with great respect the secrets hidden in these ancient trails. During the journey we will have the opportunity to appreciate closely the varied fauna that inhabits the area, including cows, wild horses, as well as cetaceans, shipwrecks hundreds of years old, old hulls of abandoned ranches, indigenous traces and much more. In the evening we will gather by the fire to share experiences and tell stories, always accompanied by the magnificent Southern Sea, which gets its name from the large number of whale and sea lion skeletons, as well as abandoned ships and establishments that shone in another era. We will be exposed to the most magnificent adventures, in constant contact with nature and its changing weather conditions, and if luck and the environment allow it, we may even catch the trout of our dreams.
A transfer will pick up passengers from their hotel in the city of Ushuaia to take them to the place where the horseback ride will begin, the Estancia María Luisa, dedicated mainly to cattle raising and timber exploitation. Along the way, passengers will be able to witness the most beautiful and incredible landscapes, especially in the crossing of the Cordillera by the Garibaldi road from where you can appreciate beautiful panoramic views. Upon arrival at the ranch, each passenger is assigned a horse and the team is introduced. During this first day, passengers will not encounter any major difficulties, as it is simply a matter of getting in tune and acclimatizing. This day's ride will take us along the Irigoyen River, a special place for fly-fishing lovers, as it is possible to catch trout of more than 10 kilos. That day we will sleep in a tent at Puesto La Chaira, a place where there will be no other people but us, and we will enjoy a tasty asado criollo.
After enjoying an energetic breakfast we set off to begin this second day of riding. The goal of the day is to reach the Río Bueno post where we will spend the night. Along the way we will be able to observe how all traces of civilization are disappearing and the wildest side of Tierra del Fuego is opening its way. During this day of horseback riding we will visit shipwrecks such as the "Barca" which has been resting on the beach for many years, we will also find abandoned posts, and the most impressive thing will be to be able to appreciate the varied fauna that inhabits the area. Among the species that attract the most attention are foxes, guanacos, condors, marine mammals, beavers and a great variety of beautiful birds. The last part of the day's journey consists of bordering the Leticia River, a route that will take us to our final objective for the day. As we did the previous night, we will sleep in tents and relax with the sound of the Bueno River in the background.
After breakfast, we will start our trip to Estancia Policarpo, declared a National Historic Monument. The road will take us along the banks of the Bueno and Policarpo rivers, where we will find aboriginal remains of the Haush tribe. The conditions and obstacles are very similar to those of the previous day, with the difference that during this day we will find several peat bogs that the horses will overcome demonstrating their numerous skills. Along the way we will be able to admire the local fauna where we will be surprised by wild horses, sea lions and king penguins. We will also find numerous shipwrecks such as the famous "Duchess of Albania". From a very high valley we will be able to appreciate Caleta Falsa, a case abandoned in the 60's where it is possible to find remains and materials such as cogwheels, saws, walruses and tools of all kinds. We will sleep in a tent at Estancia Policarpo.
This day will be dedicated to rest and relaxation at Estancia Policarpo. Those who wish may visit a nearby cormorant colony located in sea caves, or participate in an entertaining trek to Cerro Bilbao, a place from which you can enjoy wonderful panoramic views.
We start the return trip from Estancia Policarpo to Río Bueno. In some sections we will walk on different trails than the ones used during the outward journey.
We return from Río Bueno to Puesto La Chaira. In some sections we will walk on different trails than those used during the outward journey. At the post La Chaira we will enjoy a delicious and abundant farewell barbecue.
We return from Puesto La Chaira to Estancia María Luisa and from there we will board a vehicle that will take us back to the city of Ushuaia. This is the end of our services.
