We’ll sail toward the Bridges Archipelago, an ideal area for diving in the Beagle Channel. There, you’ll experience the incredible opportunity to do your introductory scuba dive, surrounded by the underwater landscape characteristic of Ushuaia: kelp forests, king crabs, starfish, sea urchins, and different species that are part of the marine life at the End of the World.
You may even be able to see remains of old shipwrecks, one of the attractions that make diving in Ushuaia so unique. Resting on the seabed of the Beagle Channel, they tell stories of expeditions and adventures that took place in these southern waters.
In addition, throughout the entire experience, we’ll take photos or videos so you can keep an unforgettable memory of your first dive in Ushuaia.

1. We begin at the AFASyN Yacht Club
We’ll be waiting for you at the AFASYN Club, where our expert team will welcome you and prepare you with a brief introductory lesson, so you can feel confident and safe when experiencing your first time underwater. Then, they’ll help you put on the dry suit to begin this incredible scuba diving adventure in Ushuaia.
2. We sail toward the Bridges Archipelago
We begin the experience with a navigation through the Beagle Channel toward the Bridges Archipelago, one of the ideal areas for introductory scuba diving in Ushuaia. You’ll enjoy the landscape of Ushuaia, the nearby islands, and pass close to Bird Island as we approach the place where you’ll experience your first dive in the Beagle Channel.
3. Snorkeling before your first dive
Upon arriving at the Bridges Archipelago, we’ll begin the first part of your introductory scuba diving experience: we’ll go snorkeling, an ideal activity to get familiar with the equipment and the dry suits. This is the perfect moment for you to adapt comfortably to the water and get ready for what comes next.
4. You’ll experience your first dive in the Beagle Channel
Once you feel comfortable in the water, your first dive begins. We’ll slowly descend into the Beagle Channel, and you’ll experience the excitement of discovering fascinating sites, where you’ll be able to see up close the remains of an old shipwreck resting beneath the sea.
5. You’ll explore the underwater richness of the Beagle Channel
You’ll be amazed by the marine landscape as you dive beneath the surface: underwater forests of giant kelp known as “Cachiyuyos”, colorful “Luche” algae, anemones, sponges, and jellyfish decorating the seabed. You’ll also be able to observe king crabs, starfish, sea urchins, mussels, and various unique marine species that inhabit these southern waters.
6. We complete your introductory scuba dive
We return to the AFASyN Yacht Club with the excitement of having discovered a new world beneath the water. You’ll take home the photos or videos (depending on the option you selected) taken during your introductory scuba dive in Ushuaia, so you can always remember your first dive in the incredible Beagle Channel.

You don’t need any previous experience! This activity is specially designed for you if you’ve never gone scuba diving before. Our instructors will be with you throughout the entire activity, making sure you enjoy every moment with confidence.
The suggested international minimum age is 12 years old. However, in Ushuaia we want to make sure the dry suit fits comfortably for each participant. Contact us if you have any specific questions!
We recommend bringing comfortable thermal clothing, such as sweatpants or thermal leggings, a long-sleeved sweatshirt or thermal shirt, two pairs of thick socks, and a towel for after the dive.
Yes. For your safety, we recommend not doing this activity if you have heart conditions, epilepsy, or uncontrolled asthma. If you have any specific concerns about your health, we’re available to help answer any questions before you book.
Of course! Throughout the entire activity, we’ll take photos and videos so you can take home incredible memories of your first experience underwater.
Yes, we provide all the equipment you need, including a dry suit. If you’ve never used one before, don’t worry, we’ll clearly explain how to use it so you feel comfortable from the very first moment. In addition, we have international DAN insurance specifically designed for scuba diving activities, giving you peace of mind throughout the entire experience.
Yes, you’ll only need to pay a boarding fee and club insurance, with an additional cost, to cover your access to the pier. This is paid separately from the excursion and is independent of our company; it is paid directly at the club.
The introductory scuba diving excursion does not include the transfer to the meeting point (AFASYN Club – Ushuaia marina). You can easily get there on your own, as it is only a few blocks from downtown.
