Aboard our Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 4×4 vehicles, we’ll travel along National Route No. 3 heading north, with stops at the Carbajal Valley viewpoint and at Siberianos de Fuego, where you’ll meet the famous Siberian husky dogs. Along the way, you’ll discover the location of Ushuaia’s winter centers, such as Cerro Castor, and cross the Andes through Garibaldi Pass, our only trans-Andean pass connecting the city of Ushuaia with the rest of Tierra del Fuego.
From the Garibaldi Pass Viewpoint, you’ll take in one of the most famous panoramic views: Lake Escondido, surrounded by forests, and the immense Lake Fagnano in the distance.
In the Bombilla Nature Reserve, our 4×4 vehicles show their full potential as we experience the adrenaline of the off-road circuit together with our expert drivers, crossing mud tracks, roots, and uneven roads until we reach the shore of Lake Fagnano, one of the largest lakes in our country, where we’ll enjoy a picada (Argentinian cold cuts platter) with drinks.

1. The adventure starts right at your doorstep
2. Your first postcard view: Carbajal Valley
The first stop is the Carbajal Valley viewpoint, a landscape of glacial origin very characteristic of Ushuaia's geography: its extensive peat bogs covering much of the terrain are striking, along with its native forests and the Fuegian Andes Mountains. From this point, you can observe the Sierra Alvear with peaks such as Mount Alvear and Mount Krund, as well as the slopes of Mount Bonete and, in the distance, part of the Sierra Sorondo, creating one of the most iconic postcards of Ushuaia and National Route 3.
3. Meet the Siberian huskies
We continue towards Siberianos de Fuego, a winter center and Siberian Husky kennel, home to more than 130 dogs. You will meet the famous protagonists of winter, who keep the mushing culture alive in Ushuaia (in winter they perform the famous dog sledding). In addition to sharing a moment full of puppy love, where you can pet and play with them, you will be able to take the most beautiful photos of the day with them; their lively eyes and contagious energy make it impossible not to be moved.
4. Paso Garibaldi Viewpoint
We leave the huskies behind and continue along National Route No. 3 toward the ascent into the mountains. Along the way, we pass the main winter centers in Ushuaia, such as Tierra Mayor, Villa Las Cotorras, and the Cerro Castor area, the southernmost ski resort in the world. As we continue, the landscape fills with lenga and ñire forests, peat bogs, and finally the mountains of the Andes that accompany the ascent until we reach the Garibaldi Pass viewpoint. This is the only trans-Andean pass on the island and one of the most sought-after panoramic spots: from here, you can take in two classic views of Tierra del Fuego. On one side, Lake Escondido, surrounded by forests, and in the distance the imposing Lake Fagnano.
5. Off-road circuit in Bombilla Nature Reserve
Now comes the most exciting part of the day: the off-road section in Bombilla Nature Reserve. On this stretch, our 4×4 vehicles are really put to the test: mud tracks, roots, uneven terrain, and rough paths that seem impossible for any other vehicle. Together with our expert drivers, adrenaline and fun blend with the natural surroundings as we cross forests and hidden trails until we reach the shore of Lake Fagnano.
6. Lake Fagnano Shore with Picada Included
The highlight of this 4×4 experience takes place on the shore of Lake Fagnano, also known as Khami by the Selk’nam Indigenous peoples. This immense lake, one of the largest in Argentina, impresses with its size and, when the wind blows, often looks like an inland sea. With the lake in front of you and the mountains in the background, you’ll have time to walk, take photos, and enjoy a picada (Argentinian cold cuts platter) with drinks (water, soft drink, or wine).
7. Lunch at Villa Las Cotorras
We leave the lakes behind and return along National Route 3 towards Villa Las Cotorras, one of Ushuaia's historic winter centers, where a full lunch awaits us to recharge energy after the 4x4 adventure. The main star is the classic spit-roasted Fuegian lamb, although you can also choose another option such as homemade pasta, chicken, or milanesas; accompanied by fresh salads, one included drink (soda or glass of wine), dessert, and the famous Café del Mono (coffee made over hot coals).
8. ATV Fun
With your energy recharged, it’s time for an ATV ride. This is the day’s dose of adrenaline: you’ll feel the thrill of riding along trails surrounded by nature, at just the right speed to have fun and enjoy the power of Ushuaia’s landscape. Plus, if you’re 18 or older, you’ll be able to drive an ATV! (Keep in mind that the ATVs are two-seaters: two passengers ride per vehicle, and the driver switches halfway through the route, without exception). And if you’re under 18 or prefer not to drive, you can ride as a passenger and enjoy the scenery with complete peace of mind.
9. Walk through the valley
Before ending our experience, a short walk through the valley will lead us to discover strategic panoramic viewpoints from where you'll be able to appreciate Cerro Krund and Cerro Castor. It's a moment to walk through the forest and fresh air, pause to observe the vastness of the surroundings, and wrap up the experience by connecting with the nature of Ushuaia before returning to the city.
