In Villa Las Cotorras, un centro invernal histórico de Ushuaia ubicado en la Ruta N°3, the experience arranca con las mejores actividades para hacer en Ushuaia. Terminadas nuestras actividades en Villa Las Cotorras, we get back on National Route N°3 to ascender el Paso Garibaldi, the only cross-Andean pass que une la ciudad de Ushuaia con el resto de Tierra del Fuego. Desde el Paso Garibaldi Viewpoint vamos a contemplar una de las vistas panorámicas más famosas: the Escondido Lake, rodeado de bosques, y el inmenso Fagnano Lake a lo lejos.
Y por último, en la Reserva Natural Bombilla, vamos a vivir lo más esperado de la tarde: el tramo 4×4 off road, entre barro, bosques y caminos que solo un verdadero chofer experto en 4×4 puede atravesar. El fin de la travesía culmina en la costa del Lago Fagnano, donde vamos a cerrar esta experiencia 4×4 degustando una picada de fiambres con bebidas y con tiempo para contemplar uno de los lagos más extensos de nuestro país.

1. Arrancamos el mediodía desde tu alojamiento
Te pasamos a buscar directamente por tu alojamiento para que desde el inicio sientas que comienza un día distinto, en el que vamos a recorrer la National Route N°3 hacia el norte de la Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. El camino en sí ya es parte de la experiencia: curvas de montaña, paisajes escénicos y la sensación de estar por descubrir lugares únicos con peat bogs, forests of lenga and ñire beeches, y las montañas que marcan el paisaje de Ushuaia.
2. First picture-perfect stop: Carbajal Valley
The first stop is the Carbajal Valley viewpoint, a landscape of glacial origin very characteristic of Ushuaia's geography: its extensive peat bogs covering much of the terrain are striking, along with its native forests and the Fuegian Andes Mountains. From this point, you can observe the Sierra Alvear with peaks such as Mount Alvear and Mount Krund, as well as the slopes of Mount Bonete and, in the distance, part of the Sierra Sorondo, creating one of the most iconic postcards of Ushuaia and National Route 3.
3. Conocemos a los huskies siberianos
Seguimos hacia Siberianos de Fuego, a centro invernal criadero de perritos huskies siberianos, donde viven más de 130 perritos. Vas a conocer a los famosos protagonistas del invierno, quienes mantienen viva la cultura del mushing en Ushuaia (en invierno realizan el famoso trineo tirado por perros). Además de compartir un momento cargado de amor perruno, vas a poder acariciarlos y sacarte las fotos más lindas del día, con sus miradas vivaces y su energía contagiosa hacen que sea imposible no emocionarse.
4. Lunch at Villa Las Cotorras
Vamos a llegar a Villa Las Cotorras, one of Ushuaia's historic winter centers, known for its cozy atmosphere and culinary tradition. As you step inside, the warmth of the firewood and the aroma from the grill give you a taste of what's to come. The star of the menu is the all-you-can-eat Patagonian lamb, a classic on local cuisine served juicy and tender, straight from the stake. For those who prefer another option, there are also homemade dishes like chicken, milanesas or pasta, always served with ensaladas frescas, una bebida incluida (gaseosa o copa de vino), postre y el famoso café del Mono (un café hecho a las brasas).
5. ATV Adrenaline Rush
With renewed energy, it's time to hop on the quad bikes and add the first dose of adrenaline of the day: you will feel the excitement of moving through paths surrounded by nature between the forest and the valley, with just the right speed to have fun and enjoy the Ushuaia landscape. Also, if you are over 18, you will have your turn to drive the ATV! (Keep in mind that the quad bikes are two-seaters, meaning shared driving: two passengers ride on one ATV and halfway through the route, they switch drivers, without exception). And if there are minors or you prefer not to drive, you can always go as a passenger and enjoy the scenery with total peace of mind.
6. Hike through the valley
Antes de terminar nuestra experiencia en este lugar, una caminata corta por el valle nos va a llevar a descubrir puntos panorámicos estratégicos desde donde vas a poder apreciar el Cerro Krund and the Cerro Castor. Es un momento para caminar entre bosque y aire puro, detenerse a observar la inmensidad del entorno.
7. Garibaldi Pass Viewpoint
After finishing the activities at Villa Las Cotorras, we get back on National Route N°3 en dirección al corazón de la cordillera fueguina. A medida que avanzamos, el paisaje se llena de forests of lenga and ñire beeches, peat bogs y finalmente las mountains que acompañan el ascenso hasta llegar al Paso Garibaldi viewpoint. Este es el only cross-Andean pass de la isla y uno de los puntos panorámicos más buscados: desde acá se aprecian dos postales clásicas de Tierra del Fuego. Por un lado, el Escondido Lake, rodeado de bosques, y a lo lejos, el imponente Fagnano Lake.
8. Off-Road Adventure in Bombilla Nature Reserve
Descendemos la ruta y llega la parte más emocionante del día: the off-road section in the Bombilla Nature Reserve. En este lugar, nuestras 4x4 trucks se ponen a prueba: huellas de barro, raíces, desniveles y caminos irregulares que parecen imposibles para cualquier otro vehículo. Junto con expert drivers, la adrenalina y la diversión se combinan con el entorno natural, atravesando bosques y senderos escondidos hasta llegar a la costa del Fagnano Lake.
9. Shores of Lake Fagnano with local snacks included
