The tour Unmissable 4x4 Lakes Sunset in Ushuaia is a unique experience: it kicks off at midday and is designed to cap off the day, returning at sunset after you've experienced the 4x4 adventure and contemplating the immensity of the Fagnano Lake.
Onboard our 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado trucks, you'll travel along the Scenic National Route N°3, discovering spring landscapes, viewpoints, and hidden spots that show the essence of Tierra del Fuego.
The experience kicks off when we pick you up directly from your accommodation in Ushuaia and we head towards the north of the island. First stop: the Valle Carbajal viewpoint, a landscape of glacial origin lake surrounded by peat bogs and mountains, which in this season is covered in green and contrasts with the clear skies of the season.
From there, we head to Siberianos del Fuego, where the famous Siberian huskies are waiting with all their energy. You'll be able to get close, pet them, and learn how they are a part of the mushing tradition in Ushuaia, one of the most iconic local activities.
In Villa Las Cotorras, one of the historic winter centers of Ushuaia, the experience splits into two options:
And if when you arrive, you want to go for the full experience, you can combine lunch and activities by paying the difference on the spot.
The afternoon brings us to the Paso Garibaldi viewpoint, where you can enjoy two classic postcard views of Tierra del Fuego: the Escondido Lake surrounded by green forests and the immense Fagnano Lake, stretching out until it disappears into the horizon.
We'll take a break at the traditional Casona de Mary, before venturing into the Bombilla Natural Reserve. That's where the the off-road section, one of the most awaited moments: the 4x4 trucks cross through mud, roots, and hidden trails before emerging on the shores of the Fagnano Lake.
The grand finale arrives at this immense lake, known by the native peoples as Khami. Its sheer size is so impressive that it often looks like an inland sea. You'll have time to walk along the shore, take photos, and share a spread of local snacks "picada" with drinks (water, soda, or wine), capping off the experience with the sheer scale of the landscape of Ushuaia.
However you choose to experience it, the Unmissable Sunset ensures an authentic experience of 4x4 adventure, nature and gastronomy at the End of the World.
