Por la Ruta Nacional N.º 3, hacia el norte de la isla, vamos a hacer la primera parada en el Mirador Valle Carbajal, para conocer uno de los grandes valles de origen glaciar que rodean Ushuaia. Además, vamos a visitar un criadero de perritos huskies siberianos, donde te esperan los famosos perritos para compartir un momento con ellos, acariciarlos y sacarte las fotos más tiernas.
Y antes de continuar hacia los grandes lagos, vas a disfrutar un almuerzo completo en Villa Las Cotorras, un centro invernal histórico de Ushuaia, con opciones como el clásico cordero fueguino libre a la estaca or homemade pasta; acompañado de ensaladas frescas, una bebida, postre y el famoso Café del Mono.
Con energías renovadas, llega el momento de cruzar la Andes mountain range by the Garibaldi Pass, the only cross-Andean pass de Tierra del Fuego. Desde su mirador, vas a poder contemplar una de las vistas más buscadas de Ushuaia: the Escondido Lake entre las montañas y el inmenso Fagnano Lake a lo lejos.
Y no puede faltar la parte más aventurera que nos va a regalar un momento de pura adrenalina: in the Bombilla Natural Reserve comienza el off road en 4×4, atravesando barro, bosque y caminos donde la experiencia de nuestros choferes hace toda la diferencia, hasta alcanzar la costa del Fagnano Lake. Con el increíble paisaje acompañando, vamos a disfrutar una picada de fiambres con bebidas frente a uno de los lagos más extensos de nuestra Argentina, con tiempo para caminar por la orilla, sacar fotos y disfrutar las últimas horas de la tarde antes de regresar a Ushuaia.

1. The adventure starts right at your doorstep
We pick you up directly from your accommodation in Ushuaia so that from the start you feel a different day beginning, as we travel National Route No. 3 towards the north of the Big Island of Tierra del Fuego. The road itself is part of the experience: mountain curves, scenic landscapes, and the feeling of being about to discover a unique place.
2. Your first postcard view: Carbajal Valley
The first stop is the Carbajal Valley viewpoint, a landscape of glacial origin very characteristic of Ushuaia's geography: its extensive peat bogs covering much of the terrain are striking, along with its native forests and the Fuegian Andes Mountains. From this point, you can observe the Sierra Alvear with peaks such as Mount Alvear and Mount Krund, as well as the slopes of Mount Bonete and, in the distance, part of the Sierra Sorondo, creating one of the most iconic postcards of Ushuaia and National Route 3.
3. Conocemos a los huskies siberianos
Seguimos hacia Siberianos de Fuego, a centro invernal criadero de perritos huskies siberianos, donde viven más de 130 perritos. Vas a conocer a los famosos protagonistas del invierno, quienes mantienen viva la cultura del mushing en Ushuaia (en invierno realizan el famoso trineo tirado por perros). Además de compartir un momento cargado de amor perruno, donde vas a poder acariciarlos, vas a poder sacarte las fotos más lindas del día junto a ellos, con sus miradas vivaces y su energía contagiosa hacen que sea imposible no emocionarse.
4. Lunch at Villa Las Cotorras
Around noon, we arrive at Villa Las Cotorras, one of Ushuaia's historic winter centers, known for its cozy atmosphere and culinary tradition. As you step inside, the warmth of the firewood and the aroma from the grill give you a taste of what's to come. The star of the menu is the all-you-can-eat Patagonian lamb, a classic on local cuisine served juicy and tender, straight from the stake. For those who prefer another option, there are also homemade dishes like chicken, milanesas or pasta, always served with fresh salads, a bebida incluida (gaseosa o copa de vino), postre y el famoso café del Mono (un café hecho a las brasas).
5. Paso Garibaldi Viewpoint
Terminado el almuerzo en Villa Las Cotorras, we get back on National Route N°3 en dirección al corazón de la cordillera fueguina. A medida que avanzamos rodeados de paisajes de native forests and turberas, las mountains comienzan a acompañar el camino mientras ascendemos para cruzar la Cordillera de los Andes por el Paso Garibaldi: the only cross-Andean pass de la isla que conecta la ciudad de Ushuaia with the rest of Tierra del Fuego. Your Paso Garibaldi viewpoint es uno de los puntos panorámicos más famosos: desde acá se aprecian dos postales clásicas de Tierra del Fuego. Por un lado, el Escondido Lake, rodeado de bosques, y a lo lejos el imponente Fagnano Lake.
6. Off-Road Section in the Bombilla Natural Reserve
Dejamos la Ruta Nacional N.º 3 para entrar en la Bombilla Natural Reserve, donde empieza uno de los momentos más esperados del día: el off road en 4×4. Acá el camino cambia por completo y aparecen huellas de barro, raíces, desniveles y terrenos irregulares que ponen a prueba nuestras camionetas y la experiencia de nuestros choferes.
Vamos a atravesar caminos entre el bosque donde la adrenalina se siente en cada subida, bajada y desnivel, avanzando por sectores a los que no llegaríamos en un vehículo convencional. Y al final de esta aventura nos espera la recompensa: llegar en 4×4 hasta la costa del Lago Fagnano.
7. Lakeside "Picada" at Lake Fagnano
The grand finale of the day takes place on the shores of Fagnano Lake, also known as Khami by the native Selk'nam people. This immense lake, one of the largest in Argentina, is so impressive in size that it often looks like an inland sea. Facing its waters, you'll have free time to walk, take photos, and share a "picada" with drinks (water, soda, or wine), capping off the experience with the sheer scale of one of Tierra del Fuego.
8. Heading back to your place in Ushuaia:
