Can you imagine enjoying one of the most complete horseback rides in Ushuaia, riding through forest, coastline, and mountains until reaching the boundaries of Tierra del Fuego National Park?
The 7-hour horseback ride in Ushuaia offers a long, active, and very special day on Mount Susana, ideal for people with horseback riding experience and a good level of physical fitness who want to enjoy the End of the World with more time, a longer route, and more adventure.
We’ll ride along trails through lenga and ñire forests that are beginning to turn green again, with the first new shoots appearing after winter, while also following old routes used by prisoners a century ago, connected to the history of Ushuaia. You’ll also enjoy panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Beagle Channel and the mountain landscape surrounding the city as we continue toward the coast.
We’ll ride along the shore of the Beagle Channel, heading toward the boundary of Tierra del Fuego National Park, where we’ll take a break to enjoy a full lunch surrounded by nature, ideal for resting, recharging your energy, and continuing to connect with the landscape before beginning the return journey.
The return follows the forest trails once again, while the sections of trotting and galloping add more rhythm to this horseback riding experience in Ushuaia, combining landscape, energy, and the feeling of being on a true adventure in nature. You’ll also experience one of the most entertaining moments of the journey: crossing the Pipo River on horseback before returning.
It’s an ideal experience for those who want to enjoy a complete horseback ride in Ushuaia, taking in the landscape, sections of trotting and galloping, a lunch surrounded by nature, and the return through forest and river landscapes during the season when the entire landscape begins to bloom again.
1. We start enjoying the experience from our office
We all depart together from our office (Av. San Martín 775) to fully enjoy this horseback ride through places filled with natural beauty and history, heading toward the Equestrian Center.
2. The horseback ride begins along a trail full of history
We begin the experience heading toward Mount Susana, following trails filled with history: you’ll ride along the same route once used by prisoners during the last century, connecting directly with a unique part of Ushuaia’s past.
Surrounded by our lenga and ñire forests, you’ll begin to enjoy the peacefulness of the surroundings and that special feeling of exploring this landscape at the relaxed pace of the horseback ride.
3. Breathtaking views from Mount Susana
As we continue riding through Mount Susana, the landscape opens up and some of the most beautiful panoramic points along the route begin to appear. From there, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Beagle Channel, with the Navarino and Hoste islands in the background, as well as a panoramic view of Ushuaia and the mountain range that surrounds the city.
It’s one of the most special moments of the horseback ride, because it combines the peacefulness of the journey with one of the most complete views of this part of the End of the World.
4. Beagle Channel and the history of the ancient Yámanas
With the Beagle Channel as the backdrop, you’ll experience a very special part of the horseback ride. We’ll approach the coast to ride along the shoreline, not only giving you an impressive view of the sea, but also bringing you closer to the history of the Yámanas, an Indigenous people connected to these waters and to life in this corner of Tierra del Fuego.
5. We reach the boundaries of Tierra del Fuego National Park
Following the shore of the Beagle Channel, you’ll ride through one of the most beautiful sections of the entire horseback ride. The sea accompanies the experience with the movement of the water and the waves breaking along the shore, offering a different perspective from the forest and trails at the beginning of the route. We’ll ride along the shoreline until reaching the boundary of Tierra del Fuego National Park, making this horseback ride an even more unique experience, in an area where nature takes center stage and the landscape of the End of the World can be enjoyed in all its vastness.
6. Lunch surrounded by nature
After so much riding, it’s time to recharge your energy. We’ll take a break to enjoy a full lunch with drinks included surrounded by nature, with the landscape and the peacefulness of the surroundings all around us. It’s a moment to rest, recharge your energy, and continue enjoying the experience in a different way before beginning the return journey.
7. We return through the forest, trails, and across the Pipo River
The return is once again enjoyed along the trails of Mount Susana and, as the horseback ride progresses, the most dynamic moments of the experience begin. On the more open sections of the trail, you’ll enjoy trotting and galloping, adding more rhythm, more excitement, and an even more fun way to experience the landscapes of Ushuaia.
On this final stretch, the Pipo River appears once again along the route, and you’ll experience one of the most entertaining moments of the excursion: crossing it on horseback before continuing back to the equestrian center, completing an experience that combines history, landscapes, and horseback adventure in Ushuaia.
