This excellent activity can be done on the first or last day of your stay, depending on the flight schedule (the earliest flight arrives at 9:00 a.m. and the last one leaves at 9:20 p.m.) and is ideal to get to know the beauties that the city has to offer. Ushuaia to offer in a quiet ride with trained and very tame horses.

Once at the Equestrian Center, each visitor is given a horse. The ride begins along the same old road used by the prisoners of the former prison of Ushuaia about a century ago, to go into the forest to cut down trees for the construction of roads and houses in the city.

Then you advance over the sediments of a glacial moraine and gain altitude to have dreamlike panoramic views, worthy of thousands of photographs. There you will be able to see the whole city, the peninsula, the Beagle Channel and even the Bridges Islands.

The exuberant and lush vegetation of the sub-Antarctic forest is crossed to admire the species that compose it, such as lengas, ñires, guindos, cinnamon trees, calafates and notros. As for the avifauna, it is very varied, being able to observe cauquenes, caranchos and caranchos austral, woodpeckers, chimangos and if you are lucky condors and eagles mora.

Once you reach the shores of the Beagle Channel you will admire the Navarino and Hoste Islands, both belonging to Chile.

Finally, the return trip takes us back along the shores of the channel to find shells, the vestiges of the aboriginal culture that inhabited the region, the Yamanas.
