Experience the most complete 4×4 off-road experience in Ushuaia, Lagos 4×4 FULL, designed for those who want to experience adventure at the End of the World by combining the most representative landscapes with its great lakes and the best experiences in a historic winter center: lunch and nature.
Aboard our Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 4x4 vehicles, you will travel along National Route 3 heading north, with stops at the Carbajal Valley viewpoint and at Siberianos de Fuego, where you will meet the famous Siberian Husky dogs. Along the way, you will discover the location of Ushuaia's winter centers, such as Cerro Castor, and ascend Paso Garibaldi, our only trans-Andean pass connecting the city of Ushuaia with the rest of Tierra del Fuego.
From the Paso Garibaldi Viewpoint you will contemplate one of the most famous panoramic views: Lake Escondido, surrounded by forests, and the immense Lake Fagnano in the distance. Additionally, we will descend through the historic Garibaldi circuit, crossing old woodcutters' paths until reaching the shore of Lake Escondido.
And to wrap up this complete tour, two outdoor activities: an ATV (quad bike) ride, adding a dose of adrenaline as you explore the valley, and a hike through the valley, where you'll get to see Cerro Krund and Cerro Castor from panoramic viewpoints.
If you are looking for a 4x4 excursion in Ushuaia that truly includes everything, Lagos 4x4 FULL is the most complete option to experience summer at the End of the World.
1. The adventure starts right at your doorstep
We pick you up directly from your accommodation in our Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 4x4 vehicles, comfortable and prepared for this type of adventure. From the start, you will feel a different day beginning, traveling National Route 3 towards the north of the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. The journey itself is part of the experience: mountain curves, landscapes, and the feeling of being about to discover unique places.
2. First picture-perfect stop: Carbajal Valley
The first stop is the Carbajal Valley viewpoint, a landscape of glacial origin very characteristic of Ushuaia's geography: its extensive peat bogs covering much of the terrain are striking, along with its native forests and the Fuegian Andes Mountains. From this point, you can observe the Sierra Alvear with peaks such as Mount Alvear and Mount Krund, as well as the slopes of Mount Bonete and, in the distance, part of the Sierra Sorondo, creating one of the most iconic postcards of Ushuaia and National Route 3.
3. Up close with the Siberian Huskies:
We continue towards Siberianos de Fuego, a winter center and Siberian Husky kennel, home to more than 130 dogs. You will meet the famous protagonists of winter, who keep the mushing culture alive in Ushuaia (in winter they perform the famous dog sledding). In addition to sharing a moment full of puppy love, where you can pet and play with them, you will be able to take the most beautiful photos of the day with them; their lively eyes and contagious energy make it impossible not to be moved.
4. Paso Garibaldi Viewpoint
We leave the huskies behind and continue along National Route 3 toward the climb up the mountain range. Along the way, the main winter centers of Ushuaia appear, such as Tierra Mayor, Villa Las Cotorras and the Cerro Castor area, the southernmost ski resort in the world. As we advance, the landscape fills with lenga and ñire forests, peat bogs and finally the mountains that accompany the ascent until reaching the Paso Garibaldi viewpoint. This is the island's only trans-Andean pass and one of the most sought-after panoramic points: from here, two classic postcards of Tierra del Fuego can be appreciated. On one side, Lake Escondido, surrounded by forests, and in the background, the imposing Lake Fagnano.
5. Garibaldi Circuit and Lake Escondido
From the Paso Garibaldi viewpoint, we enter the Garibaldi circuit, descending along the old National Route 3 and ancient paths opened by woodcutters who worked the lenga wood, an activity that marked the first productive developments in Tierra del Fuego. It is still possible to find remains of old sawmills, traces of the effort of those pioneers who worked in extreme conditions, turning the tour into an experience where 4x4 adventure joins the memory of the region, until reaching Lake Escondido.
6. Break at Casona de Mary
The path leads us to Casona de Mary, a classic rest stop along National Route 3, where we make a brief technical stop. This place, well-known by locals and travelers roaming the island, is a resting point in the middle of the landscape. Here you will have a moment to stretch your legs, use the restrooms and, if you wish, try a hot drink or a tempting "torta frita," before facing the most adventurous part of the tour: the off-road section towards Lake Fagnano.
7. Off-road circuit in the Bombilla Nature Reserve
After the break, the most exciting part of the day arrives: the off-road section in the Bombilla Nature Reserve. In this stretch, our 4x4 vehicles are put to the test: mud tracks, roots, uneven terrain and irregular paths that seem impossible for any other vehicle. Together with our expert drivers, adrenaline and fun combine with the natural environment, crossing forests and hidden trails until reaching the shore of Lake Fagnano.
8. Shore of Lago Fagnano with snack included
The great moment of this 4x4 experience is lived on the shore of Lake Fagnano, also known as Khami by the Selk'nam indigenous people. This immense lake, one of the largest in Argentina, surprises with its size and, when the wind blows, often resembles an inland sea. Facing its waters and with the mountains in the background, you will have free time to walk, take photos, and enjoy a snack platter of cold cuts with drinks (water, soda, or wine), closing the 4x4 experience with the magnitude of one of Tierra del Fuego's most iconic landscapes.
9. Lunch at Villa Las Cotorras
We leave the lakes behind and return along National Route 3 towards Villa Las Cotorras, one of Ushuaia's historic winter centers, where a full lunch awaits us to recharge energy after the 4x4 adventure. The main star is the classic spit-roasted Fuegian lamb, although you can also choose another option such as homemade pasta, chicken, or milanesas; accompanied by fresh salads, one included drink (soda or glass of wine), dessert, and the famous Café del Mono (coffee made over hot coals).
10. ATV fun
With the recharged energy, it is time to hop on the ATVs and add another dose of adrenaline: you will feel the excitement of moving through paths surrounded by nature between the forest and the valley, at the perfect speed to have fun and enjoy the Ushuaia landscape. Additionally, if you are over 18 years old, you will have your turn to drive the ATV! (keep in mind that the ATVs are two-seaters, meaning dual driving: two passengers go on one ATV and halfway through the route, the driver changes, without exception). And if there are minors or you prefer not to drive, you can always go as a passenger and enjoy the scenery in total peace.
11. Hike through the valley
Before ending our experience, a short walk through the valley will lead us to discover strategic panoramic viewpoints from where you'll be able to appreciate Cerro Krund and Cerro Castor. It's a moment to walk through the forest and fresh air, pause to observe the vastness of the surroundings, and wrap up the experience by connecting with the nature of Ushuaia before returning to the city.
12. Return to your accommodation in Ushuaia
With a heart full of memories, we set off on the return to your accommodation in Ushuaia. The feeling is unique: having lived a full day of imposing lakes, panoramic viewpoints, 4x4 off-road circuit, Patagonian lunch, ATVs, and forest hiking in one of the most complete 4x4 experiences in Ushuaia.
