One of the images that come to mind when you think of snow is sleds pulled by Siberian dogs. You can make this idea come true when you come to Ushuaia in this winter. The two alternatives are called "White Adventure" and "Siberian Husky Experience" and are not to be missed.
"White Adventure" in Ushuaia
This white adventure on sleds is an excellent excursion in Ushuaia and it is only done in the winter months, since, obviously, it requires snow for its development. It has a duration of five hours leaving at 8:30 in the morning, with moderate difficulty and a maximum of 18 passengers per trip, so it is advisable to book in advance.
The fun begins when a transfer picks up passengers at the hotel and takes them to the Tierra Mayor Valley, where on board sleds pulled by beautiful Siberian Husky dogs they will travel along an ancient lenga forest trail to the "el hachero" shelter. There, the means of transportation is changed to snowshoes for the second part of the adventure, a walk through Cascada del Alvear and the Mirador del Valle. On the way back we have a hot chocolate.
"Siberian Husky Experience" in Ushuaia
The second option for walking through dog sledding in Ushuaia is very fun and unforgettable. It has a duration of 6 hours (from 8:30 in the morning as well) and is of medium difficulty, so it is necessary that passengers are in good health. The maximum capacity is 10 people, divided into 5 sleds.
The "Siberian Husky Experience" takes place in the Tierra Mayor Valley, where you will first be taken to the kennel to learn about the training and care of the dogs. Then, the basic notions of handling the sled are explained. After that, the dogs are harnessed and the fun begins. The tour is 7 km long and on the way back to the camp there will be hot chocolate and even a course on how to build igloos. Again on board the sleds, you will ride through Tierra Mayor.
Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity in the southernmost city in the world. What are you waiting for to book your place in the excursions in Ushuaia with dogs and sledges ?
