Can you imagine navigating in spring through the mythical Beagle Channel, following the footsteps of the legendary Charles Darwin and admiring the southernmost city in the world, surrounded by mountains that recover their green splendor and a marine fauna that displays all its activity in this season full of life?
This excursion is ideal for you, who want to connect with the natural and cultural essence of Ushuaia from a unique perspective. From the comfort of our modern catamarans, you'll get to explore emblematic and exclusive points of the Beagle Channel, accompanied by our expert guides who will enrich every moment with unique stories.
During the navigation, you'll get to explore the Sea Lions Island (Isla de los Lobos) up close, home to sea lions resting and playing under the spring sun. Additionally, you'll discover the Birds Island (Isla de los Pájaros), observing birds such as cormorants, skuas, and albatrosses, which fill the sky and rocks with their activity and movement.
We also offer an exclusive experience in Puerto Karelo (Bridges Islands), where you can disembark to take a short self-guided walk and discover fascinating archaeological vestiges of the ancient native inhabitants of this region, the Yámanas, in a natural environment with 360° panoramic views.
Furthermore, during this tour you'll get to admire the iconic Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse up close, widely but incorrectly known as the Lighthouse at the End of the World, where you'll get the classic postcard that represents your arrival at the southernmost point of our country: Ushuaia.
The Beagle Channel Navigation in spring offers you not only unique landscapes and encounters with marine fauna, but also a special opportunity to connect deeply with the most authentic history, culture, and Patagonian nature of Ushuaia. You'll take away indelible memories of one of the unmissable excursions at the End of the World.
1. We start the adventure from the Port of Ushuaia
We meet directly at the Tourist Port, located just a few blocks from the city center, and prepare for the adventure we are about to experience. From the moment you step onto the catamaran, you'll feel the unique thrill of navigating one of the world's most famous channels. The Austral air, the panoramic view of Ushuaia from the water, and the comfort of our catamaran ensure a memorable experience from the very first minute.
2. You'll get to explore ancestral stories in Puerto Karelo
Upon disembarking on Karelo Island, you'll discover the fascinating history of the Yámanas, the ancient canoe inhabitants of the Beagle Channel. Walking along the trail, you'll get to explore their archaeological remains, such as the shell middens where they accumulated mollusk remains, evidence of how they lived in close contact with the sea. You'll imagine how these ancient settlers navigated these same waters in small canoes, hunting and fishing to survive the extreme conditions at the End of the World. An authentic experience that will connect you deeply with the ancestral history of Tierra del Fuego.
3. You will discover the natural spectacle of Bird Island
You'll be surprised by the incredible variety of seabirds inhabiting the Beagle Channel, such as Imperial and Rock Cormorants, Skuas, Black-browed Albatrosses, and Upland Geese. You'll observe their fascinating behavior in a protected natural environment, enjoying a close encounter with the most authentic wildlife of Ushuaia. A unique moment that will always remain in your memory.
4. You'll be thrilled by the fun sea lion colony on Sea Lion Island
You'll be very close to a natural colony of one and two-haired sea lions, observing how they play, rest, and interact with each other in complete freedom. While contemplating their natural behavior and listening to their characteristic sounds, you'll experience an authentic moment with the marine fauna that inhabits the Beagle Channel.
5. You will capture the perfect image at Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse
You'll feel the emotion of being in one of Ushuaia's most iconic places when you stand in front of the famous Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse, incorrectly named the “Lighthouse at the End of the World”. This special moment is your opportunity to take the photo that represents your trip to the end of the world, a memory you will cherish forever.
6. You'll return to the Ushuaia port enjoying unforgettable landscapes
You'll contemplate the imposing panoramic views of the Martial mountain range, which surrounds the city of Ushuaia, as you return to the Tourist Port.
