Can you imagine sailing through the mythical waters of the Beagle Channel, following in the footsteps of the legendary explorer Charles Darwin, enjoying unique views of Ushuaia with its mountains, forests, and marine wildlife that is especially active this season?
This tour is perfect for you, as you want to discover the natural and cultural essence of the End of the World from the comfort of our modern catamarans, accompanied at all times by our expert guides who will enrich every moment with fascinating stories about the region.
You will get close to the Isla de los Lobos, famous for its sea lions that in summer rest and play actively on the rocks, offering an unforgettable natural spectacle. Also, you will discover the Isla de los Pájaros, home to various bird species such as cormorants, skuas, and albatrosses, which show their maximum splendor during this warm season.
Additionally, you will enjoy an exclusive experience at Puerto Karelo (Bridges Islands): you can disembark for a short walk, where you will discover archaeological remains that will connect you deeply with the history of the Yamanas, the ancient indigenous inhabitants of this region.
One of the most special moments of the navigation will be when the catamaran approaches the emblematic Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse, popularly but incorrectly known as the misnamed End of the World Lighthouse. There, you can capture the dream postcard that symbolizes your arrival in Ushuaia and create your unique memory of your journey.
The Beagle Channel Navigation in summer is much more than a simple tour: it is a real opportunity to connect with the most authentic nature, explore the local culture and history, and the best version of the southern marine landscape in its warmest and brightest season. You will take unforgettable memories of one of the must-do excursions.
1. We start the adventure from the Port of Ushuaia
We meet directly at the Tourist Port, located just a few blocks from the city center, and prepare for the adventure we are about to experience. From the moment you step onto the catamaran, you'll feel the unique thrill of navigating one of the world's most famous channels. The Austral air, the panoramic view of Ushuaia from the water, and the comfort of our catamaran ensure a memorable experience from the very first minute.
2. You'll get to explore ancestral stories in Puerto Karelo
Upon disembarking on Karelo Island, you'll discover the fascinating history of the Yámanas, the ancient canoe inhabitants of the Beagle Channel. Walking along the trail, you'll get to explore their archaeological remains, such as the shell middens where they accumulated mollusk remains, evidence of how they lived in close contact with the sea. You'll imagine how these ancient settlers navigated these same waters in small canoes, hunting and fishing to survive the extreme conditions at the End of the World. An authentic experience that will connect you deeply with the ancestral history of Tierra del Fuego.
3. You will discover the natural spectacle of Bird Island
You'll be surprised by the incredible variety of seabirds inhabiting the Beagle Channel, such as Imperial and Rock Cormorants, Skuas, Black-browed Albatrosses, and Upland Geese. You'll observe their fascinating behavior in a protected natural environment, enjoying a close encounter with the most authentic wildlife of Ushuaia. A unique moment that will always remain in your memory.
4. You'll be thrilled by the fun sea lion colony on Sea Lion Island
You'll be very close to a natural colony of one and two-haired sea lions, observing how they play, rest, and interact with each other in complete freedom. While contemplating their natural behavior and listening to their characteristic sounds, you'll experience an authentic moment with the marine fauna that inhabits the Beagle Channel.
5. You will get your perfect photo at the Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse
You'll feel the emotion of being in one of Ushuaia's most iconic places when you stand in front of the famous Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse, incorrectly named the “Lighthouse at the End of the World”. This special moment is your opportunity to take the photo that represents your trip to the end of the world, a memory you will cherish forever.
6. You'll return to the Ushuaia port enjoying unforgettable landscapes
You'll contemplate the imposing panoramic views of the Martial mountain range, which surrounds the city of Ushuaia, as you return to the Tourist Port.
