On our Classic 4×4 Lakes excursion in winter, we’ll take you to discover Lake Escondido and Lake Fagnano in just a few hours, traveling through the snow-covered landscapes of Tierra del Fuego’s interior during the most magical season of the year.
Aboard our 4×4 vehicles, we travel along National Route No. 3, stopping at Carbajal Valley and Siberianos de Fuego, a Siberian husky kennel where you’ll meet the stars of winter in Ushuaia. Along the way, we also pass through the area where the winter centers are in full swing during the season, including Cerro Castor, before crossing the Andes Mountains through Garibaldi Pass, the only trans-Andean pass on the island.
From the viewpoint, you’ll see Lake Escondido surrounded by snow-covered forest and, farther in the distance, Lake Fagnano. Finally, we descend to its shore, where we take a break to walk, take photos, and enjoy a picada (a selection of cold cuts and cheeses) with drinks overlooking the immense Lake Fagnano before returning to Ushuaia.

1. In the morning: Tierra del Fuego National Park
Early in the morning, we will pick you up directly from your accommodation in Ushuaia to take you to discover the Tierra del Fuego National Park, the only national park in Argentina that brings together forest, sea, and mountains in one place, visiting its iconic points:

You’ll experience the history of the famous End of the World Train, traveling back in time and space along the final 7 kilometers of the original route that, a century ago, prisoners traveled every day from the former Ushuaia Prison to the forest in what is now Tierra del Fuego National Park. Through the multilingual audio system, you’ll discover their stories while taking in snow-covered forests, rivers, and mountains that still hold secrets from those bygone days.
3. Short break in downtown Ushuaia
At noon, we return to downtown Ushuaia (approximately 01:30 PM), a few blocks from the port, where you will have a little time to have lunch or get ready before the next excursion: the Beagle Channel navigation.
4. In the afternoon: Navigation through the Beagle Channel
The afternoon invites you to discover Ushuaia from the water, sailing through the legendary Beagle Channel and getting closer to some of the most emblematic landscapes and wildlife of the End of the World. From the Ushuaia Tourist Port, the boat enters these historic waters to give you unique views and unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Leaving the puppies behind, we continue toward the historic Villa Las Cotorras winter center, one of Ushuaia's most traditional spots to enjoy winter in all its glory.

The Beagle Channel Navigation departs from the Ushuaia Tourist Port, located just a few blocks from our office. From there, you’ll need to make your way to the port on your own.
