Imperial and Rock Shags (Cormorants) nest on the channel's islets, sharing their home with Kelp Gulls, albatrosses, and Skuas.

South American sea lions (one-haired) and fur seals (two-haired) rest on the rocks while Commerson's dolphins (small black and white dolphins known locally as "toninas overas") play in the cold waters of the channel.
