Our trekking and canoeing tour in Ushuaia combines two experiences in Tierra del Fuego National Park in a single day: a trek along the Coastal Trail, one of the most representative trails in the park because it combines forest and sea, and a canoeing adventure on the Lapataia River.
The best part? No previous experience is required, just the desire to enjoy a day of adventure in Ushuaia. We’ll pick you up from your accommodation and head to Tierra del Fuego National Park, in the western area of the city.
Together with our expert local guide, we’ll begin this adventure along the famous Coastal Trail, a path in Tierra del Fuego National Park that follows the Beagle Channel and gradually enters the native forests, until reaching Lake Roca (or Lake Acigami). There, surrounded by this impressive landscape, we’ll share a lunch specially prepared for you, recharge our energy, and get ready for the second part of this experience.
The most exciting moment: we get ready for the adrenaline of paddling in inflatable canoes (duckies), and together with our expert rafting instructors, we’ll paddle along the course of the Lapataia River until we reach Lapataia Bay, where the adventure comes to an end.
Our minibus will be waiting to take us back to Ushuaia, wrapping up this experience with the feeling of having lived a unique adventure in Ushuaia: nature, trekking, and canoeing at the End of the World.

1. Starting the experience right from your doorstep
From that moment on, you'll know this day is going to be unforgettable. We'll pick you up right at the door of your accommodation and head towards the city's southwest area, straight to the legendary Tierra del Fuego National Park, just 12 km from downtown Ushuaia.
2. Trekking along the Coastal Trail
We begin the first part of our adventure with the trek along the Coastal Trail, one of the most representative trails in Tierra del Fuego National Park. Together with our expert local guide, we set off from Ensenada Zaratiegui and follow the coast of the Beagle Channel.
As we make our way along the trail, we’ll be listening and, with a bit of luck, spotting birds, while the sound of the water and the native ñire and lenga forest accompany our walk toward Lake Roca.
3. Arrival and lunch at Lake Roca
We reach the end of our trek along the Coastal Trail: Lake Roca / Acigami, one of the most representative lakes in Tierra del Fuego National Park. Surrounded by the forest and mountains, and facing this binational lake of glacial origin that we share with our Chilean neighbors, it’s time to take a break.
We’ll rest, stretch our legs, and recharge our energy with a lunch specially prepared for you: lamb casserole with drinks (wine, soft drink, or mineral water), with a vegetarian and gluten-free option, and for dessert, an apple crumble with forest berries.
With the first part of this experience complete, we get ready for the next: paddling canoes along the Lapataia River.
4. Time for the canoe adventure: paddling along the Lapataia River
Now it’s time for the most active and fun part of our excursion: we gear up and, together with our expert rafting instructor, set out to paddle inflatable canoes (duckies) along the Lapataia River.
We follow the course of the river between forest and coast, enjoying every stretch of our adventure, since no previous experience is required, just plenty of desire to enjoy the landscape from the water, until we reach Lapataia Bay, the point where National Route No. 3 ends and one of the most representative places in the park.
5. We arrive at Lapataia Bay
We arrive at Lapataia Bay, one of the best-known spots in Tierra del Fuego National Park and the end of our canoe route. It’s the final part of the experience, where the river meets the bay.
Here we’ll take a break to enjoy the surroundings and walk over to the End of National Route No. 3 sign, one of the most sought-after spots in the park, where you’ll be able to take the iconic photo that symbolically marks the end of the Pan-American Highway connecting Ushuaia with Alaska.
Our driver will already be waiting for us to take us back to Ushuaia.
6. You'll return with unforgettable memories

We recommend comfortable, layered clothing suitable for walking, warm layers, and a waterproof jacket. Your footwear must be comfortable, waterproof, and have a good sole.
We provide all the necessary equipment for the canoeing activity: life jackets, paddles, and duckies. You don’t need to bring any special equipment.
Yes, the activity is suitable for the whole family, including children (approximately 10 years old and up) and active older adults who enjoy walking and paddling. The priority is to enjoy safely and comfortably.
The excursion is designed to be fully enjoyed under diverse weather conditions, as the Patagonian climate is part of the adventure.

This activity is carried out only during the spring-summer season (approximately from October to March). During these months, the conditions of the National Park and the rivers allow for comfortable trekking and canoeing.

No, it isn't. Due to regulations set by National Parks Administration, the entrance fee must be paid personally upon entry to the park, using cash (Argentine pesos).
