1. End of the World Station: start of the ride
At the End of the World Station, punto de partida del tren, vas a descubrir el “detrás de escena” del Fuegian Southern Railway: vas a poder observar la historic engine room en plena actividad y recorrer la photo gallery que te va a contar la apasionante historia del tren más austral del mundo. Y si querés, en la estación vas a poder disfrutar de un café o llevarte un recuerdo especial de la tienda de souvenirs, mientras te preparas para el viaje que está por comenzar.
2. ¡Viajeros al Tren del Fin del Mundo!
Llega el momento de subirte al famoso “tren de los presos”, donde vas a recorrer los últimos 7 kilómetros del trayecto original that the old prisoners traveled daily from the Ushuaia Prison hacia las slopes of Mount Susana. Por estas mismas vias los reclusos se trasladaban para extraer madera y materiales de lo que hoy es parte del Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego. Esos materiales fueron los que dieron origen a muchas de las construcciones fundamentales para la Ushuaia de mediados del siglo pasado. Durante este viaje en el tiempo a bordo del tren, vas a relive those stories mientras contemplas bosques, ríos y montañas que fueron testigos de esa época, además de poder observar vestigios del trabajo de aquellos presos.
3. La Macarena Station: Nature and Contemplation
Llegamos a la La Macarena Station, la estación intermedia, lugar donde las locomotoras son abastecidas con agua. The train departs from the End of the World Station, located about 8 km from the center of Ushuaia and a few kilometers from Tierra del Fuego National Park. If you do not have your own transportation, you can ask us about transfer options.
