Llega el momento de subirte al famoso “prisoners' train," traveling the last 7 kilometers of the original route that the former prisoners traveled daily from the Ushuaia Prison to the forest of what is now the Tierra del Fuego National Park. During the trip, you'll relive those stories while gazing at forests and montañas nevadas, que guardan secretos de past times. Plus, you'll see historical vestiges of the work of those prisoners, who were responsible for many of the fundamental constructions to Ushuaia until the middle of the last century.
4. La Macarena Station
Llegamos a la La Macarena Station, lugar donde las locomotives are supplied with water. There, you'll enjoy a unique time of absolute serenity at a viewpoint with incredible views: the beautiful Macarena Waterfall congelada, el amplio Pipo River Valley, Cerro Guanaco, Cerro La Portada and the Mount Susana, todo cubierto con la magia del invierno. Es una parada ideal para sacar fotos y apreciar la geografía de Ushuaia before the whistle invites us back on board to continue the journey on the famous End of the World Train, renovado para continuar tu viaje al pasado.
5. Exploring the Tierra del Fuego National Park
You'll discover the characteristic landscapes of the Tierra del Fuego National Park: sus montañas, lagos de origen glaciar y amplias turberas, junto con los bosques autóctonos de lengas, ñires y coihues que definen la región, con el manto blanco de la nieve presente en cada rincón. Vas a sentir cómo la nature and the history se entrelazan para hacer de este parque nacional un lugar absolutamente único.
6. Lapataia Bay: The End of the World Postcard
8. Centro de Visitantes Alakush
In the Alakush Visitor Center vas a poder hacer una pause en un espacio calefaccionado y muy cómodo, ideal para recargar energías. 2. End of the World Station: A Journey Through Time
You'll discover how the southernmost train on the planet works from inside this emblematic place when you arrive at the End of the World Station. 3. All aboard the End of the World Train!
Llega el momento de subirte al famoso “prisoners' train," traveling the last 7 kilometers of the original route that the former prisoners traveled daily from the Ushuaia Prison to the forest of what is now the Tierra del Fuego National Park. During the trip, you'll relive those stories while gazing at forests and montañas teñidos de los colores del otoño, que guardan secretos de past times. Plus, you'll see historical vestiges of the work of those prisoners, who were responsible for many of the fundamental constructions to Ushuaia until the middle of the siglo pasado.
4. La Macarena Station
We arrive at La Macarena Station, the place where the locomotives are supplied with water. There, you'll enjoy a unique time of absolute serenity at a viewpoint with incredible views: the beautiful Macarena Waterfall, the wide Pipo River Valley, Cerro Guanaco, Cerro La Portada, and Mount Susana. It's the perfect stop to take photos and appreciate the geography of Ushuaia before the whistle invites us back on board to continue the journey on the famous End of the World Train, renewed to continue your trip to the past.
5. Exploring the Tierra del Fuego National Park
You'll discover the paisajes característicos del Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego: sus mountains, lakes of glacial origin, and vast peat bogs, along with the native forests of lengas, ñires y coihues que definen la región, todo cubierto de los paisajes otoñales. Vas a sentir cómo la nature and the history se entrelazan para hacer de este parque nacional un lugar absolutamente único.
6. Lapataia Bay: The End of the World Postcard
