During the journey, you’ll relive those stories through the multilingual audio system while taking in snow-covered forests and mountains that hold secrets from times gone by. You’ll also see historic remains of the work carried out by those prisoners, who helped build many essential structures for Ushuaia until the middle of the last century.

We arrive at La Macarena Station, the place where the locomotives are supplied with water. There, you'll enjoy a unique time of absolute serenity at a viewpoint with incredible views: the beautiful Macarena Waterfall, the wide Pipo River Valley, Cerro Guanaco, Cerro La Portada, and Mount Susana. We’ll arrive at Laguna Verde, whose waters live up to its name, although at this time of year it is often frozen. Then, we continue on to Lake Acigami, whose name comes from the Yámana native people and means “elongated basket”, a reference to the shape of the lake. Here, you’ll take in the landscape and imagine how the ancient native peoples of these lands lived in deep harmony with Ushuaia’s nature.
